GEOgraphical understanding and 

context WITH GLOBE.....

(CLASS 4 SST UNIT6)

If we look at a globe or simple map of the world the first thing we notice is that it is two different colors.  These colors are usuallygreen and blue.  The green area is land, and the blue area is water.
One way to look at the world is by looking at a globe.  A globe is a round model of the Earth.  By looking at a globe and spinning it around, we can see all the areas of land and water in scale, so they are exactly true to their real shapes and sizes...  Having a true scale is an advantage of using a globe.

The understanding of the earth as represented by a globe of the world is a central idea of geography. . Using the globe reinforces the idea that the earth is not flat, that it is a planet in space, that oceans of water dominate it, and that it is constantly rotating and revolving..........



Learning Directions with GLOBE(CLASS 3 SOCIAL SCIENCE)

To help young children learn location, position and directions..... make sure they know the location of their town and their street address, and that they can describe the building and neighborhood in which they live.

 Every place has a "global address" AND THE GLOBE tells exactly where in the world it's located ...................

Point out where you live , where you've been on holiday or where you'd like to go, names of all the countries , the lifestyle of different people
 and learn more about  ......CONTINENTS   AND OCEANS..................

 Children's Day is a day for children to engage in fun and frolic. A fun packed puppet show was organized for the blooming buds of DL DAV PP CBSEi...........

Chacha Nehru as the children fondly referred to him, was fond of children. In fact he often compared the children, saying that children were like the buds in a garden. They should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they were the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow. He felt that children are the real strength of a country and the very foundation of society. He was the beloved of all the children .As a tribute to this great man and his love for the children, his birthday is celebrated all over India as CHILDREN'S DAY.   It is a day set aside to remember Pandit Nehru and his love for children.

DIYA DECORATION COMPETITION AND DIWALI CELEBRATIONS

“The greatest significance of Diwali is to light up new, bright and colourful dreams, fresh hopes and undiscovered ways”.Diwali is synonymous with the celebration of life and to make this festival special, Diya Decoration  was conducted  in school premises.    All   students OF the CBSEi WING  participated in the competition.Children brought diyas and decorative material for this activity. They decorated diyas  & made  beautiful Rangoli  which enhanced their creativity.

All   the students  enthusiastically celebrated the festival of lights, Diwali by taking part in Diya  decoration &  Rangoli event. The     Students showed great interest in this activity and the whole school was immersed in the festival spirit.....

LIFE SKILLS WORKSHOP @ DL DAV PP

a life skills workshop was conducted at DL DAV CBSE i to  encourage the children and  in various activities so that they are enabled to strengthen their life skills...such activities aim at enhancing the confidence and situational handling of the children for a happy and healthy life.
